Stick it to Yr Dignity - San Francisco, CA

We've been in San Francisco for less than 24 hours - I've already seen a guy pissing on a trash can, and another guy getting ready to shoot up in a doorway. Classy! Staying at The Phoenix Hotel has it's advantages, as it caters specifically to musicians, however there are also drawbacks...like catering specifically to musicians.
Last night the room next to us had an afterparty of sorts, which included (but was not limited to): a small village of inebriated people passing in/out of the courtyard & the room, a very intoxicated girl loudly screaming 'Eeeeewwwww!' for roughly 30 minutes, various runs to the liquor store, and enlightening conversation. Under which a soundtrack of a reality cops show at full volume blasted through the open door.
Conversation sample: 'Naw, dawg, that's how it is!'
'I feel you, naw, I feel you.'
(Eeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwww! EEEEEEEEEWWWWW!)
'I mean, we've been tight for what?'
'I feel you.'
(EEEeeeeeeewwwwwww!!!!)
Everyone in Hellgate is sick, except for me. Jamie somehow managed to sleep through the insanity, while Ben & Jon watched tv in their room. Somewhere around 3am, I decided to just stay up, so I rolled a spliff and sat in a cabana by the pool listening to the insanity. They play at The Hemlock tonight, and we're driving to L.A. tomorrow where they're playing The Redwood Bar. Hopefully they can all recover and perform, simultaneously.

On Sunday night we stayed in Oakland with my friend of 14 years, Adam, in his warehouse LoBot. We were surrounded by artists & musicians, safe in an urban pirate ship. Jon, one of the artists living there, performed a set of Fleetwood Mac covers set to a backdrop of electro-beats. Pretty fucking amazing.
